Netgem adds Hopster and Wuaki.tv to its international OTT content partnership line-up
London, UK – XX May 2016 – Netgem, the award-winning end-to-end video entertainment provider and global leader in #TelcoTV, today announces the addition of renowned entertainment service Wuaki.tv and children’s platform Hopster to its global line-up. The partnership will see both OTT players made available across Netgem’s international network of channels and content partners for telecoms operators.
The partnerships follow successful deployment to customers for Netgem-enabled EE TV in the UK, and will see consumers gain access to some of the most recent and applauded and recognised films and TV on Wuaki.tv available to rent or buy on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Through the extended partnership with Hopster, Netgem will now be able to supply the Hopster programme globally to bring the best kids TV experience to international families. Since its launch in 2013, Hopster has become one of the top UK kids on demand services, providing entertaining and educational programmes such as Arthur, Fireman Sam, Pingu, Bob the Builder and Teletubbies.
These agreements represent the latest in a series of international partnerships signed with major content providers, including news service France 24 and SPI’s FilmBox Live, a multi- screen entertainment service which gives subscribers access to an on-demand library and live TV channels, now available in 4K via POST Luxembourg following a recent launch of Netgem’s latest cloud TV service to the operator.
Both services will now be available to telecoms providers who take up Netgem’s solutions around the world and enable consumers to access content through dedicated OTT apps. This will be pre-integrated into Netgem’s #TelcoTV platform, allowing simple content discovery through optimised search and catalogue browsing. The #TelcoTV platform incorporates broadcast TV with IPTV and HTML 5-based OTT content to enable telecoms providers to deliver a complete experience to their customers on TV and mobile devices.
In response to the new partnership, Nick Walters, founder and CEO of Hopster, commented : « At Hopster we’ve learnt a lot about offering users a great experience on TV over the last few years – and we’re focused on working with partners who offer proven technology, a great product, and access to a mass audience. Netgem tick all those boxes and we’re delighted to be partnering with them. »
Commenting on the announcement, Sylvain Thevenot, Managing Director of Netgem Europe, said : « By establishing international partnerships with world-class content owners like Wuaki.tv and Hopster, we are establishing a first class platform that enables telecoms providers to launch TV services with ease, and without the worry of having to source their own content partnerships, therefore drastically reducing their time and cost to launch a multiscreen HTML 5 service.
This international distribution agreement with both providers represents additions to our line-up range and allows us to incorporate a leading OTT service into our #TelcoTV solution that we offer to our existing customers and all forthcoming international deployments. »
